I have been with 1and1 for around 2 years now, and in that time I have fallen in love with the backend including the easy routing of domains, webspace explorer, mySQL admin, etc. as far as the click to build tools, I rarely use them as I am a web designer/developer myself. A lot of the features are just bloated to make a features list bigger as a lot of web hosts are.
The pricing plans, I have found to be great, they often do multiple months free, with affordable pricing thereafter, and they include domains with a hosting account (for as long as you host with them.)
Support is very lacking, I usually get an outsourced phone agent who simply directs me to the FAQs after taking some time to figure out what I am asking them.
Overall, I would say that I am very happy with my experience with 1and1, but some things could change (most notably, i would love to see them offer, yearly payment plans instead of evey 6 months.)
Okay service but lie and say they will give you many extras and never give you them. Uptime is great but no support.
